Robert, on the front page of the Washington Post newspaper here in the United States, there was a great story about the rangers! This is huge in bringing attention to your cause… what wonderful news!!!

Such dear animals deserve the kind love and protection that you are giving to them. I feel grateful and proud that there are still persons like you that dedicate themselves to such a noble cause.
I want to express my deepest condolences for the Ranger who was killed.

Dear Editor,
In response to the ABC program “Foreign Correspondent” on 28/8/2007, it has been brought to our attention that the mountain gorilla is rapidly becoming extinct.
There are now approximately 700 of these gorillas left in the wild, due to 150 mountain gorillas (scientifically known as gorilla beringei beringei) have been murdered in the past ten years. The gorilla’s difficulties involving humans are becoming seriously out of control. Half of the mountain gorillas live in Virunga National Park on the border of Congo and Rwanda in central Africa.
Many rangers are now risking their lives to help protect the mountain gorillas. Their passion for these innocent gorillas has touched our hearts dearly. We are grateful for their audacity and courage and we feel compelled to help out in some way or another. If we could raise awareness in others, then perhaps people could donate and help out. If there are enough people with humble, admiring hearts it could encourage the government and others with power to act.
It would be a phenomenon if mountain gorillas and other endangered species live for another century. We are afraid that many of our endangered species will die out…

We are studying endangered species and one of my students is reseaching the Mountain Gorilla. We found this site and were so appalled by the cruelty such precious animals. We support anyone trying to help. What can we do?
