Elie Mundima - Advance Force Commander

In November 2005, Elie was selected for Instructor Training at Ishango, having shown loads of promise during the selection phase.

Elie was named Top Student, a position he thoroughly deserved despite not being the fittest on the course. He consistently displayed outstanding team-work, and unfailing humour and intelligence to claim his spot. He went on to support Conrad in training Virungaâ€™s top 50 rangers and continued to develop his skills as a fine leader, promising great things for the future of ICCN. He has already won an Abraham Award for bravery for his actions in 2004 when he played a key role in preventing the destruction of critical mountain gorilla habitat by an invasion of Rwandan farmers. Elie is a natural borne leader, and he has now taken over command of these well trained and highly motivated rangers. We will be following him closely, his triumphs and his challenges, as he tries to bring law and order to a lawless and very dangerous park.

Well done on all that you guys have been up to. Ellie congratulations on your promotion, you deserve it. I read with much interest the article on the rercovery of the two rangers, well done. I know what you were up against! Rob and Emmanuel, I am glad to hear that the guys are proving their worth.
